Praise God for what he is doing in and through us – this past Sunday, you gave nearly $17,000 to fund microloans in Mozambique!!!!! This is in addition to the $2500 that Life’s runners raised!

In terms of actual lives, this means that in the near future (with the average loan being $100) we will be able to give about 200 families the chance to work, and to lift themselves out of the deepest levels of poverty with dignity and hope. In the slightly longer term, as 98% of these loans are repaid and reissued twice a year, this gift will continue to work and literally enable thousands more to do the same. God is at work my friends – he loves Mozambicans, and we are privileged to be part of his work there.

In addition to this giving, another part of how we are celebrating Life’s 5th birthday is with “the taco lady.” Yes, on Sunday the 22nd we will be having carne asada street tacos immediately following worship ($5 per person, $10 for a family). To bring drinks or dessert, please email Deanne (deannefunk@gmail.com).

Finally, on a very spiritual note, Catalyst has challenged the men of Life to the First Annual Super Smack-Down Softball Game next Saturday, June 21 at 2pm. Festivities will include an obnoxious trophy and American Gladiator style action. If you would like to play, email Scotty (sbuetzow@sbcglobal.net).

Lord bless you my friends, and we’ll see you this weekend –

Tim
