Hey friends –

I’m happy to tell you that once again Life Cov is podcasting our Sunday teachings! I’m glad we can offer this to any who find it helpful, but especially glad we can provide this for our dedicated children’s workers. I’ve often heard them say they were bummed to miss a particular week’s teaching, and I love that we can make this available. You all work so hard investing in our precious kids, and I feel like this is a small way we can say thank you.

Some of you have asked about the dates of upcoming topics so you could bring friends. Here are the goods:

Oct 12 - The church hates homosexuals
Oct 19 - The church is too political
Oct 26 - Christians are not accepting of the faith of others
Nov 2 - Christians are judgmental and negative

Speaking of bringing friends, I saw a friend this morning whose family recently visited our church, and he knows me well enough (and loves me enough!) to tell me something he knew I wouldn’t want to hear – that no one said hi to them. My heart just sank when he told me this. (The other side of the coin: several newcomers have specifically told me in recent weeks how friendly they found everyone, so I know we’re not completely missing the boat. But still, that’s not cool.) If you don’t already, can I encourage you to make meeting people you don’t know part of your ministry on Sundays? Don’t assume they are already known, and don’t assume someone else is going to do it. God may intend to bless them through you, and vice versa.
