When Life Covenant started, our children’s ministry had three kids. Now, when the lights come up on Sunday nights there is a virtual army of waist-high, giggling children running laps around the sanctuary and wanting to get on stage to beat the drums. Grownups have to move quickly to the food table to make sure they get a brownie before the swarm of children devours the last one. And the air is full of young voices laughing – what a fitting way to conclude worship.

If you were there this past Sunday you heard the good news that Life is investing more deeply in our ever-expanding child population by hiring a part-time children’s ministry director. As we gain more kids (we had 7 births and 10 older kids join in the last year alone), as more and more of our kids are reaching prime learning age, and as almost half of our visitors are now coming with kids, we are at a great place to lean more deeply into what God is doing in this area (as well as prepare for future growth). Will you join me in praying that God will lead our team to the right person for this important position? And if you want to apply or recommend someone, contact Justin Robinson (jpups44@sbcglobal.net).

We have some hard news in the area of children’s ministry too, which we really need your faithful prayer on as well. Many of you have already heard that Bridget and Marcos Andrade, who have led our children’s ministry for the last couple of years, just received word that Bridget has uterine cancer. They are early in the process and don’t yet know the extent of this diagnosis, but at minimum it is going to require that Bridget undergo a hysterectomy. This is devastating news for them, and of course a very anxious time as they wait to see what’s next. Please pray for Bridget and Marcos – that God will bring healing to both body and hearts, and that they will know his grace as he walks with them into these next weeks. We’ll keep you posted as to how they’re doing, and how we as the church can come around them.

It’s great to be the church with you all. Lord bless you friends, and we’ll look forward to seeing you this weekend –

Tim
