Sunday is going to be a powerful experience.
For me at least, I always find it a bit of a challenge to really “get into” Easter. For those who have been followers of Jesus for any length of time it can be difficult to feel in a fresh way the weight of what Christ did for us on the cross and the magnificence of his resurrection. It’s huge and powerful and the core of our faith, and sad to say it can become over-familiar to us over time as well.
The ancients recognized that observing the season of Lent really helps us engage with these core truths of our faith, as do worshiping intentionally on Palm Sunday and Good Friday.
Palm Sunday is this Sunday, and our worship gathering is a self-guided prayer experience. You will go at your own pace through a number of prayer stations that will help you reflect on different aspects of our lives, the cross, new life in Christ, and the ways in which God meets us. There will be Scripture passages to guide you in your meditation and printed instructions to guide you in your response. Come with hearts ready to meet God.
Doors open at 5pm (those coming with children should come at 5:30 like normal), and coffee will be served during (if you have to wait for your turn to go through), and afterward if you want to hang out and talk about it with others.
Lord bless you guys, and we’ll look forward to being with you this weekend -
Tim
